Story
Assalamo-Alaykom W.W./Hello
Khalid, Junaid & Salim have taken on Waterfall Charity's challenge of completing the Ride London-Essex 100 on the 29th May. It's a national event with over 100 miles cycling in one day.
The cause: Providing over 1000 families in Pemba, Tanzania with solar panels.
A simple solar panel kit costs £60.00. Many villages on the island of Pemba have no access to the public electricity grid or simply cannot afford it. They are still using primitive kerosene lamps which are detrimental to their health due to the toxic fumes and dangerous. The children cannot study after dark and the parents cannot work so their income is restricted.
Your donation will allow families to have a light and power source in their homes. A very basic utility that we feel all people should have access to. This is a fully zakat eligible project as the panels will be owned by each family.
All types of donations are accepted: zakat, sadaqah & lilah
We kindly ask you to donate any amount or in multiples of £60.00 for a panel.
Jazakamullahu Khayran
Thank you.
