Story
Thanks for visiting the fundraising page of Tim Benson, Peter Cadenhead, Mike Cresswell and Bernie Hawkes. (There we all are after finishing our 72 hole marathon)
The aim of our team (named 'Why is Davis Love always ill?') was to complete 72 holes of golf in one day. We teed off at 4.40am on Monday 30th June 2008 at Berkhamsted Golf Club, then raced down to Ashridge Golf Club six miles away for a 8.30am tee time, had a quick bite to eat and then went out again 1.15pm. We then went back to Berkhamsted for a final tee time of 5.30pm and finally finished at 9.13pm, 13 minutes before sunset.
It was very tiring, very eventful and actually very enjoyable. Even more so, when you consider that we expect to raise in excess of £7,000 for our chosen charity, MacMillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support and please do continue to sponsor us, the cause is so worthwhile.
Thank you
Tim, Peter, Mike and Bernie
