Story
As members of Toyota Motor Europe Accounts & Finance, we would like to raise money for the Pediatric Intensive Care unit (PICU) at The Queens Medical centre in Nottingham, a great cause that is very close to our hearts.
The staff at this hospital supported one of our friends and her family through an unimaginable time - their beautiful daughter, Katie, died of meningococcal septicaemia on the 20th December 2011 despite the huge effort and support from the staff at this hospital. For Katie’s full story please visit Kevin’s Page for Katie.
We would like to raise a lot of money so much needed extra equipment can be provided to a ward that treats so many very critically ill children.
The Challenge
On 14 / 15 July we will be attempting the national 3 peaks challenge. This challenge consists of climbing to the summit (and back down of course) of the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. The 3 mountains in question are Ben Nevis in Scotland (1344m), Scafell Pike in England (978m) and Snowdon in Wales (1085m). The clock will start ticking from the moment the assent up Ben Nevis begins at approximately 17:00 on Saturday 14 July and will not stop until we reach the foot of Snowdon hopefully a little less than 24 hours later. The 24 hours is continuous and includes all driving times between the 3 mountains.
The Team
Our team will consist of 3 climbers and 3 drivers.
The Climbers for the challenge are Steven Bagnall, Stephen Cooper and Jordan Rowley.
The drivers are Kate Bagnall, Laura Cooper and Charlie Mitchell.
None of us are ardent walkers and have never climbed to the top of a mountain, let alone 3 within 24 hours. This is truly going to be a challenge for all involved!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
