Last year I diagnosed with early stages of ovarian cancer which resulted in surgery to remove my overy. Although devastated I also felt that I was incredibly lucky that it was caught very early on. I could nt believe that someone as fit and healthy as myself could possibly have this silent killer growing inside me which was only discovered by pure chance as I had no symptoms. Following my recovery from this very tough period of my life I set myself goals and targets and started training hard for Triathlon season as soon as I had recovered from surgery.  I had planned to compete in Half Ironmans, Olympic distance races and hoped to qualify for this years world champs in Australia for Team GB where I had previously won a silver medal. This was my plan which did nt quite go to plan as during a training ride I skidded on broken road, came off my bike quite badly, broke my pelvis and suffered a severe shoulder sprain where I had landed. I spent this summer on crutches after my dreams of triathlon season fell through my fingers. So I battled on refusing to be beat and was back on my spin bike within 6 weeks and back in the pool a week later. I am however still working on my running!! Not quite there yet but 3 months down the line im not doing too bad!! So my point is no mountain is too high, no obstacle too steep and no challenge too tough which is why I am planning on peddling for a whole day for a fantastic cause. Another goal for me to work towards and another achievement after what has been a very challenging year and what better way to finish it than with the ultimate challenge.  The plan......

At 3pm on Friday 11th December I will push the first pedal and start the challenge with the aim to cycle continously on a spin bike for 24hrs (with toilet breaks allowed). I will be set up at Horsley Sports Club, East Horsley, Surrey. To makes things interesting I will have another bike by my side.....and here's where the fundraising comes in............I WANT YOU TO JOIN ME!

      30min or 1hr slots are available at £30 for 30mins or £50 for 1hr - choice of time being first come first served!

To spice things up a bit there will be a live band from 7pm, the bar will be open and id love it if you locked the date down to party the night away and keep me entertained!  On the Saturday (12th) there will be a cake and tea sale from first thing for cyclists, walkers, those who just like cake. Following that there will be a Q and A session with a professional sportsperson (tbc) from 12:30pm with live Heineken Cup Rugby being played alongside the comfort of a bar....

So please come down on the Friday evening and / or Saturday with friends and family if not for a cycle just for a fun night and day of live music, beer, cake and of course, laughter at my pain....
