Story
In an act of gruelling endurance over 24 hours, four of us, from the 25 Training Support Regiment at Deepcut, will be attempting to climb the height of Mount Everest on a stepper on highest resistance! With two steppers, that means 12 hours on the machine each!
We are doing this for the excellent charity HOPE for Children.
HOPE (an acroynm for Handicapped, Orphaned, Poor and Exploited) funds projects helping severely disadvantaged children in the UK and abroad. Importantly, this charity spends less than 3% on administration costs. The rest goes straight to the children they support.
Examples of HOPE’s work include providing prosthetic limbs to children disabled by land mines in Sri Lanka, special equipment for disabled children in the UK and funding for street children centres in Zambia, India, Zimbabwe and the Philippines. For example, just £10 will provide rehabilitation treatment for a child with an artificial limb or art therapy materials for a disabled child for one month. For inspiration and further examples of their work please visit their website www.hope4c.org.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Hope for Children will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So, please dig deep and sponsor us, and together we can make a difference.
Thanks so much for your support, it really means a lot to us.
