Story
Fistula Foundation trains surgeons and funds operations to repair obstetric fistula, a devastating injury caused by difficult childbirth that often results in loss of the baby and that renders the woman incontinent. Without proper treatment, they are often stigmatized for their smell and isolated from their communities.
On May 23rd, the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, I am running 23 miles from Bournemouth Pier to Swanage Pier and back. I believe that it is so important to raise awareness of the experiences of women living with obstetric fistula around the world. In addition, to raising money for surgical repair and long term rehabilitation.
