Story
I'm beyond excited about doing my first multi-day cycling trip outside of the UK with Thighs of Steel, in solidarity with refugees and displaced people.
THE FACTS:
- WHAT: I'm cycling 600km over 6 days 🚴
- WHERE: Paris to Geneva
(and handing the baton to the next lot of awesome riders)
- WHEN: 30th July - 6th August 2023
(my leg of the ride - the whole event travels from Glasgow to Athens)
- WHO: Riding with Thighs of Steel, raising money for MASS Action.
- WHY: MASS Action distribute all donations to grassroots projects that support refugees in the UK, Greece and beyond, helping people when they need it the most.
WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT IT AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ME?
This last year has been a stark reminder of how easily people can find themselves in need of help - with my family living so close to the Polish border with Ukraine, I can't help but think how lucky they are. So many people are less fortunate, so here's my chance to do something good whilst challenging myself too.
It's going to be tough, it's going to be fun, and it's going to allow me to explore new places on two wheels 🚲 - it's set to be a great summer! (I definitely need to get some training rides in 🦵)
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
If you can donate, no matter how big or small, I am extremely grateful to you - every penny makes a difference (and don't forget to add Gift Aid if you're eligible).
Also, give me a kick and tell me to go out for more training rides - that helps too. (Too many hobbies and not enough hours in the day!)
Lastly... 🚴
THANK YOU.
