When my dad died last year, I felt completely lost, afraid, and alone – I was facing the reality that I would have to spend more of my life without my dad than with him. I didn’t know how I would pick myself up without my safety net and biggest supporter – which is why I chose to nominate It’s Time as our office charity. Nothing will come close to healing the heartbreak of losing him but if I can do anything to help others in my position have the support of a community that understands what they are going through and is able to provide them with the resources they need to navigate such a difficult time in their lives, then that feels like a legacy fit for the amazing man that my dad was. I only got 26 years with him but I would take that over 100 years with anyone else – because having him as my dad was the greatest privilege of my life.
