Story
Grandad heartbreakingly passed away on the 20th March 2023, during training for the marathon.
I will take it all in my stride just like grandad did and will do my best to make him proud. I know he will be with me on the day and I’m so glad he knew I was doing this for him🤍
-Unfortunately like most of us, a few of my loved ones have been affected by cancer.
In 2020 my amazing grandad (Alan Carr) was diagnosed with Prostate cancer and devastatingly in August 2022 he lost use of his legs due to the cancer having spread. As a farmer all his life, this horrible disease has stopped grandad from the lifestyle he knew but amazingly despite his situation he still cheers us all up on the daily and is the strongest person I know. This strength has inspired me to challenge myself (a big challenge 😬😂) to run the London Marathon and use my legs as unfortunately grandad now cannot.
I am running for Macmillan as I’d like to help others out there who will sadly have to face cancer but hopefully with the support that Macmillan provide this difficult time for people can be made a little easier in the many ways they can help. I can’t wait for this experience to raise money helping them continue the life changing support and care they deliver.
Any donation is massively appreciated by our whole family, knowing it will go help individuals and families who need it. 💚
Wish me luck !
