Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2019 is all about giving back. When my son Freddie was born back in 2016 at just 30 weeks gestation, he was cared for and supported by the incredible team at St Michaels Hospital in Bristol who are supported by Cots for Tots.
He traveled a total of 200km to make it home to Bourton-on-the-Water, completing a round trip from Swindon hospital to St Michaels, a short stop in South Cerney and finally into his family home 82 days after he was born. And my challenge is to cover 200km.
I’ll be taking on the following events with more to be announced:
Minchinhampton 10k, Bristol 10k, Cotswold Way 50k Challenge, Thames Valley 100k Challenge and Bristol Half Marathon
Cots for Tots raises funds to help support the Neonatal Intensive Care unit at St. Michaels and runs the Cots for Tots House, a 12 bed purpose-designed family accommodation, minutes from the Special Care Baby Unit, which is open 365 days per day to provide free accommodation to the families of premature and critically ill babies.
Throughout all our month at St. Michaels we had use of the Cots for Tots house, meaning that we were no more than 5 minutes away from Freddie’s bedside. Without this service, we would have been over an hour away. The fact we had a room across the road from the Hospital and the ability to be so close to our son was invaluable and it cost us nothing to be there. The staff at both Cots for Tots and St. Michaels NICU not only cared for Freddie but for both myself and Emma, supporting us through an immensely difficult time and we will be forever grateful for what they did for us.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this site and thank you for your support over the year.
