Hi there
My name is Liz Hamilton and although I might not look crazy I actually am.... On April 1st this year I'm flying out to the Sarah desert for the 3rd time to compete in the Marathon De Sables.
This is a marathon a day for 7 days self sufficiency race (meaning I have to carry all my own food etc for the week)! To top this off the temperatures in the desert often reach 120'F and the terrain is a mixture of rocky ground, sand and huge dunes!
I've set myself another challenge on top of this race and that is to raise money for Sightsavers International - my target is £4,000!
Sightsavers is a charity that really makes a difference to people in the world that would otherwise not have access to sight saving treatment. Unlike many other charities they are a hands on charity who actually get out to the countries and take action; resulting in many people being given back their independence by regaining all or part of their sight making a huge difference to their daily lives.
Many thanks
Liz
