My name is Nick and I am attempting to complete 20 events in 2012 (including the Berlin Marathon and my first ever Ultra-marathon, the Haworth Hobble 32 mile race in March) to raise money for research into the causes and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.

As you may already know, my brother Ben suffers from MS and the determination and courage he has shown in dealing with the horrible effects of this disease has been an inspiration and also made me aware of how important it is to support the great work the MS Society are doing in their search to find effective treatments and eventually, a cure.

The 20 events will be spread over 12 months and include distance running, cycling and triathlon (confirmed events in bold below - or visit my blog at http://nicksmarathondiary.blogspot.com/ )

15th July, Eccup 10 mile race - 1hr 4.33

29th July, Leeds Xpress Triathlon - 1hr 19 mins, 48th overall

5th Aug, Jane Tomlinson 10km, York - 36.33 PB - 14th place

2nd September, Blackpool Half Marathon - 1 hr 20.50 PB - 13th place

9th Sept, Leeds Triathlon - 1 hr 30.46 - 10th place

23rd September - Kirkstall Abbey 7 - 41 mins 16 sec - 9th place

30th Sept, Berlin Marathon, 2 hours 54 mins 18 sec - PB

14th Oct, Wistow 10km, 36 mins 23 secs, new PB, 12th place

18th November, Barnsley 10k - finished!

2nd December, Bradford City 10k - 32 mins 29 secs (5.33 mile course!) 19th place

26th Dec, Chevin Chase 7 miles - 50 mins 

30th Dec, Jolly Holly Jog 10k, Ripon - 42 mins, 37th place
