Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We wanted to fundraise for the MND Association’s Reading and West Berkshire Branch because of our inspirational client, Colin. He has had MND for several years and with the help of his local support group, nurses, family and his team of carers he is trying his best to continue to live a fulfilling life and we would like to ensure that everyone that needs it, gets the same care and support Colin has received. We want to raise as much as we can for our local support group Reading and West Berkshire.

With MND, messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste. MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Some people also experience changes to their thinking and behaviour. However, MND affects everyone differently. Not all symptoms will affect everyone, or in the same order. Symptoms also progress at varying speeds, which makes the course of the disease difficult to predict.

MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life and that is what the charity aims to do.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
