Story
Midwich colleagues across their UK&I businesses will either walk, jog or run 1,000,000 steps for charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind. The aim is to promote the benefits of exercise on your mental health, as well as raising vital funds for charity.
The team will be starting on the 10th of October, World Mental Health Day, and finishing on the 13th of November, World Kindness Day.
As a group, we will be getting fitter, enjoying a sense of comradery and raising awareness and money for our chosen charity Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
There are many benefits for physical activity, it reduces the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity and gives you more energy to do the things you enjoy in life.
Walking also improves:
- self-perception
- self-esteem
- mood
- sleep quality
- reduces stress
- reduces anxiety
- reduces fatigue.
