Story
Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Please help and support me as I attempt to grow a Decembeard for the Charity Beating Bowel Cancer. 'Bear' in mind, if I leave my wiskers for more than three days, I start to go a little crazy!!! I really cant stand it!
I am raising money in memory of our truly brave, beautiful and inspirational young lady, Alison Read, taken from us far too early, after beating bowel cancer for 10 years.
Alison represented the charity Beating Bowel Cancer on numerous occasions, most notably completing a trek of the mountains of Peru and the Machu Picchu trail. Alison did this whilst suffering from her symptoms, silently of course, as many of you will know with a beaming smile, the words "Im fine" the response to any concerned fellow climber, a trait always held by her, at all times!
Alison will continue to inspire us all, for ever and a day as she remains close to our hearts and lives on in our thoughts, prayers and actions.
One in four people are effected by bowel cancer in some way, either directly or through a family member or friend. Its a very treatable condition if caught early and Beating Bowel Cancer's aim is to increase awareness of the condition and to support those suffering from the effects.
