Walk For Rob · 11 December 2021

This is a discretionary trust set up to support Rob Burrow and his young family after the former Leeds Rhinos and Great Britain international Rugby League player was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in December 2019.

Story

We are inspired as a group of young Rugby League players from Leigh by Rob Burrow who is a legend of Rugby League. Rob has been struck down in the prime of his life by Motor Neurone Disease which has no cure or treatment. Rob continues to fight this dreadful disease and create awareness for MND sufferers and their carers. Rob and his wonderful wife Lindsey, inspire us all every day.

MND does not discriminate and has the ability to strike down the fittest of athletes within the sporting arena and particularly in the rugby community worldwide and this asks questions whether there’s a link.

To raise money, we are walking 13 miles on the 11th December to all the community clubs who have provided players to play for 1918 Leigh Town Team. Please donate to support our walk. The money raised will be invaluable to help Rob and his family and help the MND Association come closer to finding a cause & cure for this dreadful disease.
