Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ten years ago, we lost my Mum to Breast Cancer very suddenly and unexpectedly. I have many memories of her, but something I will always remember is how much she was always on my side. It was like having a cheerleader! She always told me that I could do anything if I put my mind to it and would always give her full support to so many of my crazy ideas. I look back and some of the decisions I have made and things I have done are because of the belief in myself she taught me from such a young age and it is this legacy I want to pass on to anyone who may be inspired by my story and challenge.
Back in 2011, I cycled Lands End to John O'Groats for MS Society, in her memory as unfortunately she suffered from MS and was unable to walk in the later years of her life. I remember when she quite passionately told me I needed to go out and do everything I wanted to because you never know what's going to happen next and this sparked the idea to do the cycle. It was such an amazing experience but I felt like I wanted to up the challenge this year to mark the tenth anniversary.
Having never run anything more than a half marathon before, I am under no illusion that this is going to be easy and there will be some weeks where I know I will have to dig more than deep to keep going. But I'm fully ready for this challenge and I am so honoured to be able to do it for this amazing cause!
I have chosen to support Breast Cancer Care because the work they are doing is vital to those diagnosed with Breast Cancer and their families. It is so important that charities like this exist to give the support for the people affected by Breast Cancer and knowing there is a charity whose vision is to give access to the best treatment, information and support available out there I feel so lucky to be a part of their efforts.
