Story
Earlier this year, my incredible colleague Greta Geoghegan went home on Friday evening after a normal day at work. On the Sunday evening she went into hospital and a few weeks later she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. She is 28 years old.
Greta's story is a positive one. The grapefruit size cyst on her ovary was removed successfully and after grueling chemotherapy, she was given the fantastic news that she was in remission. She is now returning to work steadily and doing incredibly well.
Sadly, the story is not as positive for a former colleague of ours at Digital Glue. Shortly after leaving Digital Glue, our great friend was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and having fought bravely, eventually lost her battle with cancer aged just 35.
The symptoms of gynecological cancer are not well known, and Greta wants to use her experience in the most positive way possible to raise awareness, and support the great work done by The Eve Appeal.
As a mark of support for Greta and in memory of Aneela, I will be running 12 marathons in December. The 12 marathons of Christmas if you like.
If you can support me by sharing this story, making a donation or joining me for just part of a run, it would be amazing.
My target is to raise £10,000 for The Eve Appeal to support their work in research and raise awareness.
