Ryan's 12 marathons in 12 months

In 2016 I ran 2000km in a year and concluded it by running the Manchester Marathon to support children who lose parents.
My dad died very suddenly when I was 15, there was no support available to my family at the time and the emotional cost on us was huge. Last year, at the age of 42 I ran 52 half marathons in 52 weeks in memory of him. When he died, he was 42 years old. Outliving my dad and having 3 young children has made me reflect on life and the support I would want my family to have if anything happens to me.
Prioritising health & wellbeing is so important for dad’s who want to see their kids grow up.
Running official marathons with the crowds, support and other runners is a shared experience and although difficult, the event and the people pushes you on. This year I plan to run 12 non official marathons in 12 months to highlight how hard mental health issues are when you face them alone.
Look after yourself, your health and well-being and if you are struggling share it.
