Story

I'm taking part in Save The Children's Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 13th December.

I'll be DJing at the Stag & Hounds pub in Old Market, Bristol, UK, from Midday - Midnight, playing non-stop Christmas songs! Facebook event page:

https://www.facebook.com/events/427559471274630/

Am I mad? Probably! Will the bar staff survive? Hopefully!

I've been collecting Christmas releases ever since I was a child. Across the 12 hours, from my vast Christmas music collection, you can expect:

*All the usual big Christmas hits of course!

*Indie/Alternative Christmas songs

*Rock 'n' Roll Christmas songs

*Soul Christmas songs

*Reggae Christmas songs

*Doo-Wop/Rhythm 'n' Blues Christmas songs

*Comedy Christmas songs

*Children's Christmas songs (e.g. The Muppets, The Wombles, Disney)

*Crazy and unusual Christmas cover versions and song parodies

and much more!

While I'm DJing these 12 hours of Christmas choons, you can drink, dance and dress to impress in your Christmas jumper for Christmas Jumper Day.

But unlike Elton John, if you decide to step into Christmas at the Stag & Hounds, the admission isn't free!

If you want to make a knit of yourself and wear your Christmas jumper with pride, I'll need to fleece you for some money - you must donate at least £2 to Save The Children.

Your £2 minimum donation could pay for antibiotics for eight children suffering from pneumonia, one of the biggest killers of children.

But want to give more? Well, £5 could provide a winter jacket for a child in Syria.

So please click the donate button above to give your £2 (or more!) and help me reach my target.

I'd like to try raising at least £60 for every 60 minutes I'm DJing. So for the 12 hours, my target figure is £720.

Save the Children have also given me a personal QR code – anyone who scans the code and then donates will contribute to the fundraising total. Not sure how it works? Here's a link to a very handy guide on using QR codes. https://claim.savethechildren.org.uk/guide

And who am I? I'm a former DJ at the Thekla (Bristol) and Moles Club (Bath) and I host a monthly show on the John Peel-inspired online station Dandelion Radio: http://dandelionradio.com/garethj.htm

I also co-curate an annual Christmas compilation CD (this year is volume 14!), released on the small independent label Cherryade Records (who put out early releases by BBC 6Music favourites The Lovely Eggs). https://cherryaderecords.bandcamp.com/

Here's to a cool wool Yule,

DJ Kitschmas
