Story
Those who know me know that my feet have been something of an embuggerance (to borrow from the late, great Sir Pterry) all of my life. I have talipes equinovarus, or club foot. That's led to osteoarthritis in later years and...well, to cut a long story short I don't get about too well and I might have to have one chopped off at some point. Ho hum.
The point is, it's caused me some consternation over the years and just recently I discovered Steps. They're a fantastic charity who work to support families who are dealing with talipes and other lower limb conditions.
After wracking my brains for ideas, I finally hatched a plan to support Steps and so i'm launching my 12 Days Of Nonsense campaign.
The 12 Days Of Christmas is a lovely little ditty but did you ever stop to think just how much all those extravagant gifts would set you back? I did, because that's the kind of inane drivel that keeps me awake at night.
After hours of Googling and number crunching, I came up with an approximate cost of £46564.89.
Much as I love my dear wife, I decided that a chunk of change that substantial would be better off going to a good cause. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of cash handy, so i'm asking you good people to chip in.
I'll be pestering you all throughout the coming months, getting up to shenanigans, generally just doing anything I can think of that might force people to part with their hard earned for a cause that is so close to my heart. Or my feet.
