Story
I have decided to run 5km every day from December 1st to December 25th, including Christmas Day. Some of you will know I have had my own health issues in the past couple of years. In June 2018 I had a rare adrenal tumour removed and I am only just off the post op steroids. So running with only one adrenal gland is tough. However, this is nothing compared to what my very good friend Oliver's mum is going through. Please read Ollie's story below and help support an excellent cause.
Mum was recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in her life. We want to do something for her (and the thousands of other families affected by the disease). Anyone who’s had a close family member go through cancer treatment will understand that you can feel pretty useless and passive in the process. Therefore, we’re going to raise some money by running 5k every single day from the 1st to 25th December. Even the days after Christmas Parties.Mum is the most perfect Grandmother/Auntie/Godmother/Mother/Matriarch/Surrogate/Chatterbox out there and it will warm her heart to know that we’re thinking of her and holding her hand throughout this tough time.I was a teenage boy when we went through it last time. That experience changed my life, career choice and outlook for the better. Your money will help other families remain as lucky as we are. We’ll cross our final finish line on Christmas Day and feel blessed we get to spend it with our Wives, Mums and Daughters.
