Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
10K for Matt in memory of my darling husband.
My husband Matt was a kind, gentle and very caring man. He was a driven individual with a passion in life to help others to achieve their goals and ambitions. Whether that was in business, running, cycling, or just advice to a friend. His motto "Be the best you can be" was at the forefront of everything he did. Matt sadly passed away on 19th September 2021, he was only 54 years old. We are running 10K in Matts memory on Sunday 6th March 2022, this was his favourite short running distance.
The Heart of Kent Hospice is a wonderful caring and compassionate community who helped and supported both of us during our stay with them. We want to raise as much as possible to ensure that others in the future continue to benefit from this invaluable service. We would really appreciate a donation to help us reach our target.

10K for Matt Part 2 - Sunday 17th July 2022
Yesterday I completed another 10K for Matt supporting the Heart of Kent Hospice. This time it was very different, I was running alone. The day was poignant, it marked 10 months since Matt passed away. My bib number was 10 and October is the 10th month in the calendar which was Matts birthday month. The weather was unbelievably hot and there was no breeze even though the event was on the coast. I was pleased with my efforts, I was faster by 1 minute per mile than the last 10K for Matt so achieved a PB 10K and also a 30 min 5K which I have been striving for since I started back running only 7 months ago. I would once again like to thank my friends and family for all their support and donations, I am determined to raise as much as I can for this very worthy charity.
10K For Matt - Sunday 5th March 2023
Already a year has passed since we did this event and it is 16 months since Matt left this world. I miss him terribly, every day starts with the same thought "he's gone" and I have to endure another day without him by my side.
I have decided to make this run an annual event, to continue to remember Matt and to raise vital funds for the hospice. The new badges have arrived, It's a new photograph and in the colour purple.
The funeral donations page unfortunately has now been cleared from the total funds we have raised as it is over year since Matt has passed. The funeral page raised almost £1400. So as not to feel defeated by seeing the amount reduced, I have increased the just giving page by this amount setting myself a challenge to raise more funds and a personal goal to beat my last years time on race day!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and simply "checked in" it means so much. It goes without saying a huge thanks to everyone who helped with fund raising and of course your donations.
I love you all...
Carol
