During these unprecedented times, there is a massive strain put upon our NHS. We are currently in Lockdown to help ease the pressure of the pandemic we are in.
My aim is to help in my little way provide for our local NHS hospitals through fundraising. Our healthcare workers are superheroes, they need all the support we can give them. This is why I have decided to run 10k every day until the 7th May (hopefully when the lockdown restrictions will be eased). I would do a longer distance but I must do this as part of my daily exercise in accordance with government guidelines, and this means realistically around an hour a day is acceptable. 21 days means 210 kilometres, which is around 137 miles. From where I live this distance would get me to Oxford, Aylesbury, Aberystwyth or The holy island of Lindesfarne.
I’d really appreciate any donations anyone could give to help support The NHS and Leeds Cares. The work they are currently doing is phenomenal and they deserve every bit of support we can give them.
If you want to follow my daily 10k runs, please follow me on strava by searching for Lee Hullock. I will post my daily 10k on my Facebook page also, Thankyou for reading.
Leeds hospitals are run by 18,000 dedicated staff, from doctors and nurses to porters and cleaners, who are all working together to provide the best possible care for patients and their families at this difficult time.
