Story
Hi and welcome to my fundraising page. Cancer is a terrible thing and it seems its more common than ever to know someone suffering with it. When cancer hits you have the support of the NHS for the treatment but the support you need in the background that Macmillan provides is amazing. The advice, the guidance and know how that they can provide when you and your family are still in shock of diagnosis allows you to concentrate on what matters. Without funding through donations this amazing charity would not exist . This charity is particularly close to my heart as they were such a big help to my mum Pat when my Dad Brian was diagnosed with terminal Cancer. Their support and guidance helped my Mum to be able to care for my Dad at home which was very important to all of us.
To pay back to this great charity I have decided that I wanted to do a few events to raise some money.
10 Events to raise 10 grand easy right.......i don't think so but if it was easy I wouldn't sponsor me. So here goes. I'm going to do the following torturous events to get me through hopefully to my 10K target by October. I have paid for these activities or am organising them myself so all of the donations go to the charity none of the money contributes towards any entry fees for any of the below events.
10K London city Winter Run - 13th Feb Complete 47mins 17 secs
WIlmslow half marathon - 20th Mar - Complete 1hr 45 mins 02 secs

Evolve Half Iron Distance Triathlon - 14th August - Cancelled by organiser Replaced with :-
Midnight Man Half Distance Triathlon - 13th August - complete 5hrs 29mins
Barcelona Ironman - 2nd October - complete 13 hrs 20 seconds
As you can see this is a pretty heavy line up of increasing difficulty so the idea is each event provides a stepping stone onto the next. Until I have finalised my training plan and preparation the Triathlon events will remain up for debate as I've got to be careful to load them correctly to avoid injury.
I have a pretty awesome support team with my wife Aimee taking part in the running events with me and My good friend Matt over at AI Healthician helping me through the process keeping an eye on my physical state and preparedness with his know how and state of the art equipment to keep track of all my health stats. Link to his site below and Paul Jones at F4L triathlon planning all of my training and conditioning.
