Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May of 2021 i will be joining my friend, Stephen Pollard, as he embarks on a 100mile walk to raise much needed cash for a charity that has become very close to both his and his families hearts over the past few months, and will continue to be a big part of their lives for many months to come.
Welcome to Team LaCie
This is Lacie. Daughter of Lee Pollard & Kelly Marshall, and the Grandaughter of my friend with whom I am joining for this fundraising event.
Lacie has just turned two.
Lacie has recently been diagnosed with having a Wilms Tumor in one of her Kidneys, bone marrow, and caused spots on her lungs. The tumor itself is quite large and has grown into her tummy as well as wrapping itself around her spine.
Thankfully this is all treatable!!!
After a short stay in hospital, as well as having her first course of
Chemotherapy, Lacie has now been released and home where she is still having treatment and returning to hospital each week as a day case.
As part of her ongoing treatment on December 17th Lacie is scheduled to have an operation where she will have her damaged kidney removed. This will be followed by a further 8month course of Chemotherapy treatment.
As a thankyou to the fantastic Hospital and Staff at the Queens Medical Centre, Ward E39 Oncology Unit, I will be trying to raise some much needed & deserved funds for the hospital by joining my friend ( Stephen Pollard ) in walking 100miles over 5 days, along the roads of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
As of yet, the route has not been finalized but we will be commencing the walk on Monday 22nd March 2021.
All funds raised will go direct to Ward E39, Oncology Unit, at the Queens Medical Centre. Nottingham.
