We support heart failure patients to help them live well

Story

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to take on the challenge of walking 100km from London (Richmond) all the way to Brighton, for the wonderful Pumping Marvellous Foundation. It is a charity that is very close to my heart (no pun intended!) as I am a Heart Failure Specialist Nurse in a busy East London hospital.

Heart failure is a condition that affects nearly 1 million people in the UK and up to approximately 26 million globally. It has a worse survival rate than bowel, breast and prostrate cancer, yet awareness of the disease is poor. The Pumping Marvellous Foundation was set up by a patient after he was diagnosed with heart failure. It is patient driven and provides a huge amount of help and support to patients, their families and even the health care professionals who look after them. Please take a minute to visit their website and see what they do - http://www.pumpingmarvellous.org

I am aiming to complete my walk within 24 hours. It's going to be tough, but I am determined to do it and raise as much money for the Pumping Marvellous Foundation as I can. Please give generously and rest assured that your money will be very gratefully received and put to good use, by a very worth while charity.
