Story
Trevor said "Do you fancy a walk, Its a bit of a walk 100 miles in 4 days" at the time we (Alan and Greg) said "Yes sounds like a bit of fun"
Then we were 4 Steve is a friend of Gregs from work and has run Marathons climbed kilamanjaro (fit bloke)cycled long distances all for charity in the past.
Now we are 9 with Gavin Joisce also a work friend and Veteran of the Nijmegen 100 and recently a climb to Everest base camp. Graham Rogers having completed this route in his Army days (mostly running), Pauline Chandler, Conunytrside Ranger with Hadrians Wall and Offa's Dyke amoung her recent walks. Sally (our village Scout Leader)and Rob Dartnell, also very experienced walkers who are not only going to walk in relay but also transport the camping equipment between the overnight stops at Buriton, Amberley and Plumpton.
We intend to walk the south downs way from Winchester to Eastbourne in 4 days camping out along the way we will have 2 dogs (Fatboy and Rolo) as pace setters and various family and friends popping in and out of the walk and camping out.
We now have an 18 mile training walk completed with Blisters to prove it, and certainly won't miss the daily applications of Friars Balsam on the feet (although it does keep the flies off).
The monies raised will be split between the Rudgwick Primary school and The Rudgwick Biodiversity Project.
