Story
Some of you may have already seen that for the last 25 days I have been waking up early and walking into the chilly North Sea. I decided to give cold water therapy a go as a way to kick start my mornings and to improve both my physical and mental health. I never set out to make this a daily thing but it is fast becoming that way. So, today, Friday 7th July I decided that I am going to challenge myself to continue my dooks(Scottish word for dips if you're not from around these parts) and make it to 100 consecutive days. I thought that by setting up this page I could take it a step further and raise some money for a great cause too.
Having been through some personal struggles over the last year or so I have come to realise just how important charities like this are. These charities help to take the strain off the NHS who, I'm sure you know, are under a great deal of pressure at the moment. Mental health still has a huge stigma around it and people are often too scared or embarrassed to reach out for help. I am so glad I did and am extremely grateful for all the help I have and continue to receive. It has truly has been life changing. I now have the tools to grow and evolve into the person that I want to be. If by doing this challenge I can help or encourage others, then this really would be the icing on the cake for me.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported me so far, it really means a lot. If you want to join me on one of my dooks then please get in touch via my Instagram page @dawnimo. It really helps me stay motivated. If you're unable to join me for a dook then I would appreciate any donations to this great cause. Donating though JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll never send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Thanks,
Dawn
