Story
Hope is 11 years old and is a beautiful daughter, sister and granddaughter. When she was 18 months old she was diagnosed with Quadriplegic spastic dystonic Cerebral Palsy which means she cannot sit stand or walk unaided and needs physio twice a week to help work her muscles to become stronger. The family have had to adapt the house for Hope to be more mobile, safe and happy in her home.
Hope’s parents are amazing and my friend Rachel, Hope’s mum, is a true superwoman! She never complains, is always happy and ready to help others. Rachel’s Dad has sadly just been diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer. Rachel is now not only looking after Hope, but also her Dad.
So although the Cancer research 100 push up a day in October Challenge is to raise money for cancer research, I wanted to twist this a little and do this to raise money for Hope.
Hope’s personal physio is crucial to ensure her muscles stay strong, but is costly and funded privately. The adaptations the family had to do at home is also very costly and funds are slowly drying up.
Doing 100 push ups every day is definitely going to be a challenge, but if you are ready to help raise money for Hope, I am up for the challenge!
Thank you so much for your donation!
