Story
We’ve teamed up with the Butterfly AVM Charity to bring you the ’10 For Ben’ 10k challenge in memory of the one and only, Ben Briggs, who we sadly lost in July 2020 to a complex brain AVM.
On the 17th of October 2020, Ben’s family and friends will flock to Edgbaston Reservoir in his hometown, to take part in a 10k run. It would mean the world to us if you’d sponsor us.
All funds will be going directly to the Butterfly AVM Charity, an organisation set up to fund vital research into this rare and often deadly condition.
AVMs (Arteriovenous Malformations) can affect people of all ages, are notoriously hard to diagnose and are often symptomless. But with greater awareness, we can bolster early detection and increase the success rate for treatment.
If you’d also like to take part in the ’10 For Ben’ 10k either in Edgbaston or remotely in a location of your choosing, we ask for a minimum donation of £10.
As a bonus, any runners who donate over £20 get a Ben inspired t-shirt designed by his lovely sister, Jules, to run in.
What? A 10k run/walk/hop in memory of our colleague Ben Briggs
When? TBC (postponed due to covid-19 restrictions)
Where? Edgbaston reservoir and ending up at the Highfield for drinks
