Story
Andy Reid fondly referred to as ‘the man in shorts’ was certainly a force to be reckoned with by all who met him! He had the ability to carry you along with his never ending enthusiasm for life and new experiences or mad cap adventures depending on which way you interpreted it!
Andy believed very strongly in the Mile End Wall, the ABC and NICAS and was always thinking of ways that he could help them develop and grow for the benefit of everyone.
His love of climbing both outdoors or at an indoor wall along with anything to do with the outdoors never dimmed and I know he was passionate about wanting everyone to have opportunities to experience them too.
Mel, his sister and I, Fifi (Andy’s wife) have thought about what would be a good way of honouring him and his desire to inspire others and we have decided on setting up a ‘Just Giving’ page for the Charitable Trust section of the Mile End Climbing Wall, (Development Through Challenge).
This supports local youth groups, schools and the climbing squad to have the chance to experience those opportunities that Andy loved doing.
For those who knew Andy or who share his passions, your contributions from this ‘Just Giving ‘ page will go a long way to ensure that the Development Through Challenge is able to continue to do the work that Andy worked so tirelessly for.
Thank you.
