Story
A 55-mile loop of the largest hills in the border region, at a time when most livestock are brought off the tops and only the hardy feral Cheviot goat is left to fend for itself.
This route takes me into one of the last wild places in England where the population count per square mile is the lowest to be had. High up in the fells, I’ll cross peat covered hills, descend grassy banks, along the mighty border ridge with Scotland on one side and England on the other. Hopefully get to jog with some hairy goats.
It's by far not the longest race or the most ascent I'll ever have done, but it has its own challenges and it'll be hard enough that I feel able to ask for a few of your pennies to support BHF, a charity important to me for personal reasons I won't bore you with.
