Story
Southwark food bank needs support now, more than ever, ahead of what is set to be one of the toughest winters that our community has faced in more than a generation.
In the first 3 months of the pandemic, Southwark food bank saw an exponential 500% rise in users. Between March - June they provided more food parcels than the entire previous year. They report many new first time users - people suddenly finding themselves in financial crisis as job losses continue to grow. This is a national emergency, but we can all play a part on a local level.
If this is what the summer looked like, then we must prepare and be ready to support our friends and neighbours through the tough winter months ahead.
If you're able - then please consider donating to our Winter food bank fundraiser. All funds raised go directly to Southwark food bank and help them to continue supporting families and individuals in crisis.
You can also donate food - there are various supermarket drop off locations around the borough listed on the Southwark food bank website here: https://southwark.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/
And if YOU need support through these tough times - Southwark food bank is here to help. Please reach out. Find out more at: https://southwark.foodbank.org.uk/get-help/
