My son Tom, 19, was wounded whilst serving with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan on 6 September 2011. My challenge, to reach the summit of all 214 Wainwright tops and climb the 15 Lakeland rock climbs in Classic Rock is now nearing completion. Update as at 26 August 2012...now at 213/214 summits (only 1 to go): 151,000' of ascent: 459 miles walked in in 237 hours. Plus I've managed to get onto the high crag of Pillar for 2 climbs, so the 2 on Scafell now need doing. The last climb, Little Chamonix on Shepherd's, will hopefully be climbed on Saturday 8 September, along with the last hill, Latrigg above Keswick. Come along if you want. Details will appear later here and on my facebook page www.facebook.com/fellandrockchallenge.
