Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am looking to support the incredible work which Africa on the Ball are carrying out, as well as my mum who is helping to champion that work even further and also participate in this 21 mile walk after only recently receiving her second him replacement.
Africa on the Ball empowers deprived communities to improve their healthcare, education, gender equality, economies and beyond, through the power of football. By giving old and young people - boy and girls all the opportunity to play and experience football in a structured manner and as part of a team, and working directly with the communities to support them with their needs, Africa on the Ball enables communities to construct their own outreach programmes to help foster their growth.
Whilst walking 21 miles for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk may not be the most monumental challenge for a healthy 21 year old, I look to not only support my mum with her efforts to complete this challenge, having only been under the knife for her second hip replacement less than a year ago, and the commitment and support she has poured into her work with Africa on the Ball. But I also look to bring a little bit of ‘Kein Deutschland, Kein Party’ to the Edinburgh and complete the Kiltwalk in traditional Bavarian Lederhosen, no matter the weather..
The money I am hoping to raise will help to fund two people get one year of full training in a wide range of skills at the Lusaka Youth Resource Centre to enable them to lead their own communities programmes within Kalingalinga. Thank you very much for your support - Be part of our Team. Be part of our Dream.
