Story
Join our project, help us raise funds so Vicky and children with her same rare disease can see the world for longer!
This year we take our 8 and 10 years old daughters on a motorbike tour across the Dolomites. This is time for our family to nurture mind, heart and soul. To slow down. We will drive through beautiful places, those you would want everybody to have the opportunity to see. And we want to give a bigger meaning to our trip, hence we are kicking off the project – Eyes on the Future, Eyes on the Dolomites.
With Eyes on the Future, Eyes on the Dolomites we want to help children affected by inherited eye diseases see the world for longer. Children like 8 year old Vicky who is slowly losing her sight due to a condition called Leber Congenital Amaurosis. Just after her diagnosis a few years ago, Vicky's parents wanted to do everything they can to save Vicky's sight and started supporting research to find a cure for her. Huge progress has been made and Eyes on the Future is now an established organization giving hope to Vicky and children with her same rare disease around the world.
WE CAN ALL HELP!
Help us raise funds for children with Vicky’s condition to see for longer. We will have 16 stops. Each stop is a place you would want every kid on earth to see. We will post photos, videos and we will share our emotions of being there, wishing every child to feel the same one day. If you like the place and if you wish to contribute to research for finding a cure for Vicky’s condition, please make a donation through this Just Giving page.
We've been friends with Vicky's parents for many years. We know Vicky since she was born, through the diagnosis and the realization that her condition cannot be treated. But science is making huge progress and there is hope! We've seen Vicky growing up, a curious, talented and incredibly strong girl. We've seen her parents moving mountains to drive research for a treatment forward. We believe our role is to help in any way we can.
Together we can give hope to Vicky and children like her to see our beautiful world for longer. All funds will support research into Vicky's eye disease. Eyes on the Future is a registered charity in the UK run by volunteers including parents and friends of those affected by Vicky's condition. Check out www.eyesonthefuture.org.uk for more information on the research they are funding and the work they do.
