On September 11th, 2015 I am travelling to Ecuador to climb a number of volcanos ending with a summit attempt of the massive Cayambe! The summit of Cayambe sits at 5790 metres (19,000 feet) which is 5 times the height of Ben Nevis and 1.4 vertical kilometres higher than Mont Blanc.
I'm undertaking this challenge to raise money for the ME Association. ME is not a well known disease, but its effects include severe and debilitating fatigue, painful muscles/joints and disordered sleep. It greatly impacts the lives of those that suffer from it, but still little is known about its causes and, unfortunately, treatment for those that have it remains woefully inadequate. I want to help change that!
