Story
Emilie Faith Harrington is an 13 year old girl diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of 3 yrs, Emilie was born 7 weeks early and has been behind at certain stages of her development, Emilies first steps were taken At the age of 2, but she never walks flat footed as the cerebral palsy affects her gait pattern, the only way to relieve this is to have the Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which cuts away the nerve endings to remove the Spasticity in Emilie's legs, enabling Emilie to walk like any other person, without the operation as Emilie gets older her mobility will decrease and could potentially leave Emilie wheelchair bound. After the success of the SDR operation on Emilie's younger Sister Evie we have decided that it's the best way forward for Emilie.
We are needing to raise £25,0000 to pay for the operation and aftercare.
Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree ofHope to assist other sick children.
