Feeding programme and tarpaulins · 27 August 2020

Story

Following the Covid 19 lockdown in India thousands of migrants from remote villages were trapped in areas where they come to find work each season. They have no homes, no work and no money. Many have their families with them as wives often work and the children are sent out begging.

In Goa, El Shaddai help these children, many are admitted into our residential Children's Homes, others come to our Day Centres and hundreds attend our Slum Schools. Since the lockdown we have been providing over 1000 nutritious meals a day cooked in the main kitchens in three locations in Goa. Each meal costs us about 50 pence so I am always trying to raise funds for this feeding programme.

Suddenly the monsoon struck and their makeshift shelters collapsed so tents were erected but the storms soon damaged them and we need to buy strong tarpaulins to help keep these families dry. Each tarpaulin cost 1000 rupees that's £10.
