Story

“I'm raising money for Spinal Injuries Scotland who have been supporting the amazing Mikey Reid after his accident.

Last year Mikey damaged his back in a freak fall and over the past few months has had to learn how to walk and use his arms again. A devestating event but the support of his family, friends and Spinal Injuries Scotland he is on the slow road to recovery.

Mikey's drive to get better and his ability to keep cracking the jokes has inspired a squad to take part in the Kiltwalk's Big Stroll to honour his resilience and raise money for Spinal Injuries Scotland.

Spinal Injuries Scotland

Peer Support is at the heart of what we do. Our volunteers are former patients or have a family member with a spinal injury. These Peer Supporters use their own experience of a spinal injury in a meaningful and positive way by drawing on their own personal experience of recovery to help others going through a difficult rehabilitation by offering empathy and understanding, and by encouraging the development of mutual support relationships."
