Story
We aim to support People with Parkinson's (PWPs) in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Our remit also extends to those who are connected to PWPs and are affected by the condition.
We provide opportunities for Branch Members and their families and friends to meet, share experiences and support each other.
We organise a large and varied range of events and group activities, many of which run weekly. We keep people informed through newsletters, emails, and the Branch website, as well as monthly Branch Get-togethers.
We have an Edinburgh Research Interest Group (ERIG) which provides opportunities for Branch Members with an interest in Parkinson's research to meet, learn, discuss, work together and generally further the cause of research. Each year we run the Edinburgh Parkinson's Lecture which attracts internationally renowned experts to inform and educate a large annual audience and to review progress in the fight against Parkinson's. We also sometimes fund Parkinson's UK research projects.
Details of how to join the Branch are on our website: https://www.edinburghparkinsons.org/
This is only some of what we do, there is so much more. To do all of this, the Edinburgh Branch depends on donations and fundraising, both of which have decreased recently as a result of Covid-19. We have now revised our target to £60,000 and are incredibly grateful for donations of any amount - thank you so much for your support.
We would also be grateful if you could share this page to encourage others to support us in our work.
