Eden High School is an integral part of the Herts & Essex community. As our partner school, we provide as much help as we can in as many different ways as possible.
Eden is a secondary school in Uganda which gets no support from the state and takes currently 470 children from every social background. We help support the school because we feel particularly committed to the fact that girls are provided with a secondary education (a rare thing in Uganda) as are orphans and others without carers. Not only is there no state support for the school, but there is no state care, no social services in Uganda for those who might be in need.
The Covid-19 crisis has hit schools hard worldwide and Eden is no exception; it has now been forced to close. The way in which things are managed out there means that the staff will not be paid. Eden has 45 teachers and 12 support staff. £2,400 per month will cover all their salaries during this time
