When Project 3580 went to Kissy town in April, the threat of Ebola loomed over our shoulders as cases in neighbouring countries started appearing on the news. Sierra Leone was even given the all clear whilst we were out there. So we never imagined that it would have spread into the country and infect and kill as many people as it has over the past few months.
Recently we have heard that EBOLA has now spread into Kissy Camp where the charity has been working, building schools, toilets, and improving the camps clinic. As you can imagine over the years many of the people of this camp have become close friends, they text, phone and email us regularly. Unfortunately lately they do not have happy news, their lives are at risk from more than Malaria, poor hygiene and diet. They are now facing the very real danger of EBOLA.
Neil Morland the charities founder said " Perhaps the biggest achievement is the relationships that we have carefully nurtured over the years; the mutual respect is obvious to all"
Now with the epidemic of EBOLA these relationships are at great risk. As is all the work we have done with the community and the school. There is no cure or vaccine as of yet and so far it has infected over 7,200 people.
We urge you to help us and support our friends to survive. With the country on lock down their food supply is being cut off, we have had news that the people are starving to death unable to get food. The school has shut and the clinic is under a huge strain.
Its difficult as I'm sure many people who read this will donate a lot to charities both at home and abroad. I'm sure EBOLA will have a lot of money raised through various organisations. But know these people, We love these people and these people need our help. Project 3580 can guarantee that every penny donated will reach Kissy Camp and its people. Your money WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Thank you
