Story

My New Year’s resolution? We are giving up alcohol. For January. For Cancer Research UK. We are becoming  Dryathletes. All through January we are not going to touch alcohol. Not a drop. So instead of buying us a drink, I’d like you to donate. Every pound helps Cancer Research UK bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

The reason I am participating in this is because my mother & nan were diagnosed with cancer. My mother is currently suffering from bladder cancer which is a cancer that is only in the inner lining of the bladder. Invasive bladder cancer is cancer that has spread into the deeper walls of the bladder. When the cancer has spread outside the bladder to other parts of the body, this is known as advanced bladder cancer, she is currently having chemotheraphy. My nan is currently suffering with ovarian cancer and is currently having chemotheraphy also.

The Dryathlete’s Oath I promise that I shall take part in Dryathlon™, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern it, committing myself to a month without alcohol, in the true spirit of do-gooding, for the glory of Dryathletes and the honour of Cancer Research UK.
