About The Disaster Relief Communications Foundation
In the 1988 Armenian earthquake the only effective communication with the outside world was amateur radio. The DRCF was set up to provide technical assistance, including equipment, for such disasters. Now that satellite phones are readily available, the emphasis has changed to alerting systems.
