A new challenge! After completing the Way of the Roses coast-to-coast cycle route in May, I'm looking forward to new challenges and raising much needed funds for the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre at the University of Nottingham (http://www.cbtrc.org/).
On 1st September I'll be with the Life Cycle 7 team on the 214-mile Lochs & Glens cycle route from Inverness to Glasgow. This is a stunningly beautiful part of National Route 7, which passes through two fantastic National Parks (see https://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/lochs-and-glens-north).
Then on 24th September I'll be joining colleagues from the University of Nottingham for the Robin Hood Half Marathon, and on October 29th (if I get there!), I'll be attempting the Dublin marathon. A total of over 250 miles on foot and by bike.
I'm really looking forward to the challenge, and raising funds for such a brilliant cause.
Established in 1997, the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre brings together a multi-disciplinary team of leading healthcare professionals and researchers ─ all experts in their fields, and all committed to improving our understanding of childhood brain tumours. Their findings guide national and international developments in brain tumour research and clinical practice, leading to new methods of research to help find a cure, whilst minimising the risk of disability.
Every penny donated is used to triple research funding, by attracting further external grants, investing in the latest, cutting-edge equipment, and making sure the best possible people are in place to propel research capability forward and deliver groundbreaking results for patients and their families.
