Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

Our family sadly lost our Nan Doreen Kenyon (affectionately known as "Doe") in October 2015 after she fell victim to Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Our Nan was a blissfully youthful and happy character who did her best to ignore her age and live her life to the fullest - if she could have, we have no doubts that she would have signed up to the Great Manchester Run herself!

Pulmonary Fibrosis is an illness that I'm sure many haven't heard of, but it's slow, agonising symptoms are fearsome nonetheless: the lungs begin to scar internally, causing dry coughing and shortness of breath, which in turn creates more scarring, leading to increased struggle of breathing and so on until the lungs are no longer capable of oxygen intake. Once this progressive scarring begins, there is no hope for survival and there is currently no cure.

If we can go a small distance to raising awareness for APF then this fundraiser will be a success. And to do it in our Nan Doe's name will help the healing process, and ensure that her name and memory are still very much alive.

Thanks for your time, and if you have decided to share a donation with us then we (Dan&Stu) along with our family are very grateful - thank you!

See you at the finish line.
