OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! It's all over :-(
Who would have ever thought I would be sad to say the walking is all over!!!!
I have just had the most amazing 10 days of my life. I don't even know where to start to tell you about the experience I've had.
I want to thank every single one of you in helping me raise money for a brilliant cause. On my trip I met a family who lost their 17 yr old son last year, a chap who was in a comma for several weeks (who got his A level results while we were away- 3As), and a guy who's baby was diagonised with meningitis at just36 hrs old.
The total funds raised on the walk should reach £120,000, so all the training and blisters was worth it.
Thank you so much again
Lots of love,Dee

Only ONE more month and I'll be in China, limbering up for my epic journey :-)
As the time gets closer I wanted to keep you up to date on my walking. Having cancelled all social engagements for 2 months I have been walking every weekend and now have my final training plan in place.
This weekend it's the Cotswolds and next weekend it's the Peak District. It is lovely being out in beautiful parts of England, with many different walking groups :-)
For those of you that have had to listen to me moan about lack of social life, you'll be glad to know I have a party planned every weekend in Sept......The old Diane will be back :-)
For those of you that haven't been on the site before keeping reading down and you will see the story so far.
Signing off now to go walking in the rain
Thanks as always

It's been a while since I've updated my page. For those revisiting, you will see I have changed my photo. This one sums up my life.....I am currently living in my walking boots, with all my weekend walks planned between now and 6th Aug.
I have just come back from a weekend with friends in Peak District, (the rolling hills behind me in the photo). I'm just glad I won't need to read a map on the wall :-)
I have joined a local Ramblers Ass. group, if I don't be careful I'll start to enjoy this walking business :-)
Want to say a huge thank you to all of you that have help me with the fundrasing, I really couldn't do this without all of you.

Hi there,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page
In case you are wondering why on earth I took a mad notion to go treking for 5 days when I moan if you make me walk 100 yards to the shops, I thought I better explain.
It's been a few years since I have done something that gives me a big challenge, and I thought before I get too old I wanted to do something special for charity.
WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!!!!
I have signed up to trek for 5-7 hours a day for 5 days, along the Great Wall of China, to raise funds for Meningitits Trust . So that's where you come in. I really need you to click on the 'Sponsor me now' link above, and pledge loads of money, (or, a little is good as well), as I need to raise a minium of £3,500.
How will your money help:
£15 can help fund the Meningitis Trust freephone nurse-led helpline for 1 hour
£50 can provide specialist sensory toys that help a child with hearing and sight impairements caused by meningitis.
£140 can pay for 1 month's special tution to help a child catch up with school work after missing school because of meningitis
£660 can pay for a course of sign language classses for parents of a child who has suffered severe hearing impairment as a result of meningitis
Please, Please Please, (I'll beg if I have to) dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Meningitis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Have I mentioned I need you to click on the 'Sponser us now' link above?
Many thanks for your support, I can't do it without your help.
PS The photo is of me dancing on a table (with my friends Rick & Mike ready to catch me) ...Climbing unto a chair in high heels is the start of my training :-)
