Story
This time next week I am cycling the epic journey from Toulouse to Barcelona to raise vital funds for Deutsche Bank's Charities of the Year, Cure Leukaemia and Rays of Sunshine alongside 60 colleagues from Deutsche Bank. As a team, we will be cycling nearly 500km over the Pyrenees in aid of the UK charities of the year, Cure Leukaemia and Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity.
Two incredible causes doing some fantastic work. I’ve included some details about the work they do below but essentially I’m asking you to dig deep into your wallets and support my physical challenge to help these great charities.
And if the distance alone wasn’t challenging enough, the five day
cycle will consist of some of the hardest climbs I’ve faced on my bike. Day 2 alone is 140km long with over 3000m of vertical climbing, including the Port de Pailheres, a col that has featured 5 times in the Tour de France.
Any donations you are willing to provide will be my ultimate motivation to pedal fast and push past my limitations. All amounts will help to change lives and any donations from my DB colleagues, don’t forget the Bank will match your donations so that’s double the impact!
Cure Leukaemia offers hope to patients with currently incurable forms of blood cancer and are now one of the leading centres in the world for the development of new drug and transplant treatments for patients with blood cancers. Cure Leukaemia need our help to continue to fund the valuable work that their research nurses undertake, who bridge the gap between research and patients seeing new drugs.
Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity exists to brighten up the lives of children in the UK living with a serious or life-limiting illness by granting their wishes, however impossible they may seem. Wishes make a child feel extra-special., putting their illness ‘on hold’ and bring them happiness also providing their families with treasured memories of
happy times to look back on.
Many thanks, your support is greatly appreciated!
